CD-ROM/DVD Storage Options

As an alternative and/or in conjunction with internet access to documents, electronic scanned document records can be distributed, by Images On Line, via industry standard CD-ROM's or DVD's. The scanned document images, together with the document index and database can be supplied on CD-ROM or DVD.

CD-ROM's are a cost effective and convenient mechanism for both holding and distributing document images, with a capacity of approximately 20,000 A4 pages. DVDs have an even higher capacity.

CD-ROM/DVD System Benefits

In consultation with your staff, we will index the document files in any number of fields. Document indexing can range from a simple sequential number, to several fields containing a variety of data.

Images-on-Line will then design and build a user-friendly document retrieval system using well proven software. The simple to use document retrieval software is designed with the objective of being able to provide quick, accurate information straight to your screen. You then have the facility to print off a hard copy document or fax or e-mail files to a third party if required.

Once captured and indexed the document images are ‘burnt’ to CD-ROM or DVD media for subsequent delivery.  The information on each CD-ROM or DVD can be assembled in a number of ways; from the most basic tree view to a self-contained intuitive database.

The data output on CD-ROM or DVD can be supplied with built in document retrieval software or alternatively designed for integration with your existing Electronic Document Management (EDM) system, thus guaranteeing the integrity of your documents and data. Clients have complete control over document file access, thus improving document management and speeding document retrieval times. Loss or damage to files is avoided and it ensures documents are available at all times.
